about

The duo of João Valinho (drums, objects) and Eyal Talmor (synthesizers, electronics, processing) was formed at the beginning of the second lockdown in Lisbon as an immediate response to the sudden closure of society, a combined reaction of frustration and blessing. Within a short period of time they developed a unique musical language of their own - a take on the crossover between free improvisation, power electronics, musique concrete, ambient drone, bass music and black metal. Together they are utilizing loudness, fast stochastic rhythms, aleatoric sequences, sub bass frequencies, electroacoustic techniques and experimental electronic sounds as means of researching the impact of excess, intensity and deconstruction on the spectator and the physics of the performance hall, all while continuously questioning the definitions and boundaries of genres, aesthetics and decibel limits.
